Certified International Yachtsmanship Licence Will be Given
With the collaboration of Girne American Univerity Nautical Sciences Graduate School and Girne American University Life Long Learning Centre (GAUSEM), Amateur Yachtsmanship and Short Range Radio Operator courses’ registerations have started for the new semester.
In the statement, it was reminded that Amateur Yachtsmanship and Short Range Radio Operator courses which have been organized with the collaboration of Girne American Univerity Nautical Sciences Graduate School and Girne American University Life Long Learning Centre (GAUSEM) produced their first graduates, and that the courses are taught by Shipping Engineer, unlimited master and the head of the Nautical Sciences Efdal Safel from GAU.

GAU lecturer, Shipping Engineer, unlimited master and the head of the Nautical Sciences Efdal Safel has attended the GAU TV Aktüel TV Programme and made the following statement regarding the Turkish undersecretariat of Maritime Affairs certified courses:
“Courses last for 10 weeks. Each course has a maximum of 25 attendees. This is due to the fact that the courses are practical and we need to deal with each attendee on a one-on-one basis. That is why we do not prefer crouded groups. Our courses last for 10 weeks. Graduates will receive their Turkish undersecretariat of Maritime Affairs certified International Yatchtsmanship Licence. GAU students and others who wish to become shipman can apply for the course. Able-bodied applicants older than 14 can register to our courses.’’

‘‘Nautical Sciences Student Registerations have Started’’
The head of the Nautical Sciences Department Efdal Safel also stated that Girne American Univerity (GAU) Maritime and Transportation Graduate School and Logistics and Deck departments will accept students and that the registerations have started. Safel emphasized that the Turkish undersecretariat of Maritime Affairs is also supporting the registeration and placement of studets to the Transportation, Logistics and Deck departments which have been established with the academic cooperation agreement.
Students will be given the opportunity to continue their education at the Maritime Academy in Istanbul
Safel also stated that the students will be provided with bursaries and that they will also be given the opportunity to continue their education in GAU England, Singapore and USA Campus without having to pay additional fees.
