Applications For GAU Marine Science Have Began

GAU have announced that they will accept students for Transportation and Logistics and Deck Departments in their Masters Programs of Maritime and Transportation School.

Announcement made by GAU officials explained that GAU has signed an academic cooperation agreement with Piri Reis University on “academic staff exchange”, “support, and program development projects" and "rules of the International Maritime Organization” in accordance with IMO STCW, support for obtaining Officers Licence "TRNC citizens in the fields of education and the Maritime School have began accepting students from third world countries.

Director of GAUSchool of Marine Sciences captain Efdal Safel announced that the academic cooperation agreement signed between Piri Reis University and GAU includes a project whereby students will be accepted into Transport and Logistics with deck sections. The project has the support ofTurkey Undersecretariat for Maritime Affairs, ITU, 9 Eylul University, KTU’s Marine Faculty,IMEAK Chamber of Shipping (DTO) and the Turkish Maritime Education Foundation (YOK). İnternational projects will be undertaken in the established agreements made between the Piri Reis University and GAU School of Marine Sciences.

Students will be able to continue their studies at IstanbulAcademy of Maritime Education Campus. Safel underlined that GAU offers School of Marine Sciences departments candidatesa carreer in one of the rising global world strategic professions.Prospective students will sit for entrance and scholarship exams on June 2, 2012 at GAU to gain educational opportunity in one of GAU overseas campuses in the United Kingdom, Singapore and the United States. Students will begin their training at the Istanbul Maritime Campus academy building and will have the opportunity to continue their education without paying extra tuition fees underlined Safel.

GAUSEM (GAU Long Life Education Center) and School of Marine Sciences courses for International Yacht Captans and short Distance Wireless Operators are begining. Safel added that these certificates have international recognition and that further information on these and other courses can be obtained from the GAUSEM office of GAU.
