HEART OF AVIATION BEATS AT GAU AGAIN
"International Civil Aviation Day", after its ratification in 1992 by general assembly of International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) which had been established after December 7th 1944 at USA "International Civil Aviation Conference" with multiple countries signatures, has been celebrated in our country as well. Because significance of this day, Girne American University School of Aviation united aviation enthusiast in Millennium Senate Congress Hall with an event.
GAU School of Aviation Academicians joined the event with great interest of aviation students alongside GAU Founding Rector Serhat Akpınar who joined as guest of honour.
According to statement made by GAU, the opening speech of the event was made by Prof. Dr. Ceren Ulusoy, who emphasised importance of December 7th to publicity of Aviation summarized the long way taken with lines of "On account of social economics and developmental benefits of Aviation sector, secuirty on all Aviation , productivity and shedding light on ICOs role is immensely important. From the days where first passanger planes flight distance of 34km we have come to days where they can cover distance 10 billionfold the distance between Earth and Venus."
Second speaker in the GAU International Aviation Day Event has been Captain Pilot Mete Özmerter, who touched upon the importance of concentration and synergy of aviation with other fields with "Looking at earth from space, we need to feel the responsibility of taking control with all of our attention. Or need to trust in something such as weather condition and coordination or air traffic. Good planning, making predictions, these are all important points."
Third speaker of the event Captain Pilot Nuri Sakarya who expanded on plane and helicopter accidents said "In accidents, it is good to remember that analized visual and audio recordings taken with internal cameras and simulations are do serve as a lesson, at the same time this is essential on ground lectures. Controls and analyses are for making real flight time perfect as possible. The final report results are of vital importance to manufacturer pilots and ground crew alike.
"NOTHING CAN BE MORE EXCITING THAN YOUR FIRST SOLO FLIGHT",
Cpt.Michale Llyoud Sharp who adressed the students of GAU School of Aviation shared his thoughts about career of pilots and how it shapes the feelings with human experience said: "Nothing can be more exciting than your first solo flight. When you control a plane, you will be doing something that a very small minority can do on the earth. It is not like the training flights. When your teacher remarks that you have reached to the level of being capable of solo flight you will have total responsbility over the controls. I`m pretty sure you will never forget this experience until the end of your life"
"GAU Civil Aviation Day" Event ended with sapling planting on campus ground after plaques commemorating the event had been given to speakers of the event by GAU Founder Rector Serhat Akpınar.
