Ktev Dance Festival was held in GAU
THE FESTİVAL WHİCH WAS HELD FOR THE 15TH TİME THİS YEAR HOSTED 11 DANCE GROUPS FROM TRNC SECONDARY SCHOOLS AND LYCEES
The dance festival organized by the Cyprus Turkish Education Foundation (KTEV) every year as part of the ‘World Dance Day’ was held in Girne American University Cyprus Kyrenia Campus, Congress Centre Spectrum Hall stage. In addition to the foundation authorities, Memduh Erdal, GAU Chairman of the Board of Trustees and his wife Sevim Erdal, Telsim Vice General Director Fevzi Tanpınar and other authorities attended the festival.
The festival commenced with a speech by Mustafa Özgü, Cyprus Turkish Education Foundation Chairman. 11 dance groups from TRNC Secondary schools and lycees attended the festival.
‘‘11 Schools Participated In The Festival’’
Junior high School and senior high school dance groups from Polatpaşa High School, Lapta Yavuzlar High School, Cengiz Topel Industrial School, Erenkoy High School, Anafartalar High School, Guzelyurt Kurtulus High School, Gazi Magosa Maarif College, Turk Maarif College, Levent College, Near East College together with the Turkey Dance Champion GAU Dance Academy dance groups enlivened the evening with 17 performances and were presented with plaques at the end of the evening.
‘’KTEV is Making Considerable Contribution To The Progress Of Education’’
In his opening speech the Chairman of KTEV Mustafa Ozgu stated that KTEV has made a considerable contribution to education in the TRNC and the Foundation has built 3 big schools in Nicosia, Magosa and Kyrenia . In addition to the cafeterias in 7 schools KTEV has set up class rooms and computer laboratories in various schools. Ozgu also emphasized that KTEV has subscibed to many important achievments by bestowing many scholarships on needy students and the Foundation has contributed to the progression of education, science , culture and art to universal dimensions he also stated that the direction of its purpose is to build schools, contribute to their repairs and infrastructure, and to give students the opportunity to do scientific research. Ozgu ended his speech by thanking GAU and TELSIM for their contributions and expressed his gratitude by presenting contributing institutions and organizations with plaques.
