In accordance with the information received from the Global Office, Girne American University (GAU) has signed a cooperation protocol with Mersin University to develop the international cooperation and engage in common activities in the fields of education and research.

According to the cooperation protocol, both institutions will make materials in education and research fields, academic publishing, information exchange, exchange of research and education staff, student exchange, common activities in academic and scientific fields, collaborative research projects and studies to improve and support the academic cooperation.

The agreement was made with the signatures of GAU Rector Prof. Dr. Kutsal Öztürk and Prof. Dr. Ahmet Çamsarı, on behalf of Mersin University.

Important Agreement

GAU Rector Prof. Dr. Kutsal Öztürk who gave information about the agreement remarked that within the frame of the vision of GAU Founding Rector and Chancellor of Board of Administrators Serhat Akpınar, GAU has over 200 agreements along with the foreign campuses and stated that “Adding a new one to our agreements and creating an opportunity for our students to perform cooperation, practical trainings and studies within our contracted universities, along with the campuses of GAU which spread into 3 continents, has a great significance in terms of their career.”

Successful Relations

Öztürk mentioned that they have academically made many successful cooperation and continued “These close relations which are carried out within the frame of the current cooperation will develop with the new expansions and common academic activities will be formed with Mersin University.”

Öztürk also addressed that GAU has entered 2016 with many innovations and activities and stated that close relations with the Mersin University having concluded with the reciprocal visits and agreements is the result of the reputable position of GAU in the international higher education.
