North Cyprus Graduates Union (Kuzey Kıbrıs Mezunlar Vakfı-KKMV) General Coordinator Müjdat Çaroğlu, GAU Union Chairman and Coordinator Banu Türkel, visited the Girne American University and had a meeting with GAU Founding Rector and Chancellor of the Board of Administrators Serhat Akpınar.

At the visit of North Cyprus Graduates Union (KKMV), where GAU ’93 graduate Banu Türkel was assaigned as the Coordinator of the Union, the projects that the Girne American University will play a part in regarding the students who graduated from Cyprus, the establishment of the union, its objectives were the talk of the day.

The meeting which was also attended by the GAU Graduates and Career Center Manager Merve Kurtuluş, detailed infomations were given about the Girne American University.

Serhat Akpınar who made a speech after the talks that took place in the meeting, has stated that “I want to underline the fact that i will always have your back with full support as the Girne American University and Cyprus Universities Association”, and further explained as:

“Today, our former graduates, came to us with a very good formation on the acceptance and reflection of the higher education on the island at all levels, they came up with an approach that will embrace all our graduates of universities and colleges on the island, and performed the formation of the foundation. We had a different excitement today, we welcomed our graduates from all universities. We also learned a lesson from our graduates who thought to create a strong structure as such and filled a void we failed to think of.”

Banu Türkel

GAU Union Chairman and Coordinator Banu Türkel stated in her speech that: “I undertake a different mission by coming to this island with a different mission, participating in this platform as the Chairman of GAU’s Union and representing my university. We, graduates of 6 different universities, set out with a sense of belonging and in my name, representing GAU and the university supporting our project in this sense, i thank Serhat Akpınar ver much for his hospitality and support.”

Müjdat Çaroğlu

NCGU (KKMV) General Coordinator Müjdat Çaroğlu thanked GAU Founding Rector Serhat Akpınar in his speech and expressed that: “Within a productive duration and a good meeting, we believe that this duration will be transferred to further points with his endless support.”

Müjdat Çaroğlu who stated that they have been in Cyprus for 4 days, visiting ministers and universities, has recorded that: “We wanted to describe our project. I believe that many projects will be realized in the future in order to strengthen the representation of Cyprus in international areas with the co-operations between the unions that Serhat Akpınar has established himself.”

 “GAU Founding Rector and Chancellor of the Administrative Board Serhat Akpınar’s words has empowered us. Seeing our chairman of union who is also a GAU graduate being supported and welcomed by Serhat Akpınar with open arms, has made me very proud as a DAU graduate. I think that every university should open the same doors to its own graduates. I am also vey happy to be in this position and to maintain these connections from Cyprus.”
