The study of underwater scanning which is conducted by Girne American University (GAU) Mediterranean Underwater Research Centre continues.

As a result of the analysis of the images obtained under the project, a visual database is being established by viewing the endemic species of Mediterranean that are located in the waters of Cyprus, such as Atlanto-Mediterranean and lessepsian species, in their own habitats.

When the project is completed, the images obtained will be creating the first underwater database which will be belonging to TRNC as well as providing the opportunity to observe the changes and the movements of diversity of the marine organisms which may vary over time.
