HUGE INVESTMENT TO TURKEY FROM AKPINAR

Girne American University (GAU) conveys its Academic fund of knowledge and experience of over 30 years to Homeland Turkey.

Global Science Association which is under the chancellorship of GAU Founding Rector and Chancellor of Board of Administrators Serhat Akpınar, came together with TAV Member of Board Mehmet Erdoğan, the Mayor of Susurluk Hüseyin Hızlıoğlu and accompanying delegation at Istanbul Ataturk Airport before the visit which will be held at Susurluk which is in the province of Balıkesir.

To visit, besides the GAU Founding Rector and Chancellor of Board of Administrators Serhat Akpınar, Vice-Chancellors of the Board of Administrators Assoc. Prof. Dr. Asım Vehbi and Olgun Üstün, Rector Prof. Dr. Kutsal Öztürk, Board Member and Vice-Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hossein Sadri participated. TAV Board Member Mehmet Erdoğan, Mayor of Susurluk Hüseyin Hızlıoğlu and accompanying delegation conducted negotiations before Susurluk visits.

GAU Founding Rector and Chancellor of Board of Administrators Serhat Akpınar said these at this speech before the Susurluk visit at Istanbul Ataturk Airport,

Akpınar: GAU is in a Limitless Settlement which is Independent of Time and Place 

 “Firstly, I thank to our Mayor and Mr. Mehmet for their hospitality. Indeed, I think that togetherness is the most beautiful reflection of the holistic structure. As GAU, similar initiatives were made before but it was difficult because of the obstacles. GAU is in limitless settlement which is independent of time and place and the university that has an excitement of reaches the beyond of reach. With its international campuses in many countries and beside its internationalization vision, we hope that campus formation in our Homeland that we have been planning to open for a long time, will come to life at Susurluk. We are realizing all of the improvements across the country. Having established our foundation and having obtained its permits constitute the further steps of the process for us. We are in this exciting process and we will watch the next progress together.”

Susurluk Mayor Hüseyin Hızlıoğlu in his statement,

 “We had a land measure of 1700 and 178 square meters field which was used as a thana in the past. In our Cyprus visit, we held them a presentation in this field. We support GAU which is the precious university in Cyprus for making investments here and establishing a university and this is an honorary state.”

Vice-Chancellor of Board of Administrators Assoc. Prof. Dr. Asım Vehbi said these in his statement on the issue,

“GAU is the first university of the island and at the same time it is the only university which has carried its campuses to foreign countries. Until today, apart from our Istanbul campus, a decision like this was just an opinion but recently, it began to develop rapidly. Indeed, it is considered and evaluated as a new university not a campus.”

Board Member of TAV Mehmet Erdoğan in his statement,

 “GAU is here and set up campuses in Susurluk will enable the further progress of relations between two countries. The students, who will graduate from GAU and climb the corporate ladder in the future, will provide the strengthening of the economy between two countries. I believe this cooperation which will be the beginning of a lasting relationship between two countries will be avail and this have an importance on students. Also this cooperation has an importance for bilateral investments which will take place in the future. I wish this cooperation will be better for two sites.”
