GAU, THE ONLY UNIVERSITY IN CYPRUS WHICH HAS THE AUTHORTY TO GIVE PILOT TRAINING, INCLUDED THE CESSNA 172 RG MODEL AIRCRAFT TO ITS SQUADRON

Girne American University (GAU) Aviation Academy, in addition to the 2 DA 20, 2 DA40 and 1 DA42 training aircrafts within itself, included CESSNA 172 RG aircraft, the most preferred aircraft in pilot training and air sports, to its squadron.

In the statement made about the Pilotage Department, which is located within the GAU Aviation Academy, while stating that GAU started the aviation training in 2005 with the Civil Aviation Management Program, it was stressed that, besides the Higher Education Council`s approval, GAU is the only institution with a Flight Training Organization Authorization in International Standards in Cyprus. Also it was expressed that GAU is the only Cyprus University to have the authority to grant ATPL (A) - PPL (A) - CPL (A) - IR (A) licenses.

GAU Is the Only Foundation to Have FTO Authorization Certificate in Cyprus

Also it was stated in the statement that GAU is the only institution to have FTO authorization, which is necessary in order to provide Piloting education. In the statement, where it was stated that Girne American University (GAU) Aviation Academy, in addition to the 2 DA20, 2 DA40 and 1 DA42 training aircrafts within itself, included CESSNA 172 RG, the most preferred aircraft in pilot training and air sports, to its squadron, it was announced that the parachute trainings will begin as soon as possible with the CESSNA 172 RG.

In the statement made about CESSNA 172 RG, while it was stated that the Cessna 172 RG is an aircraft which its wheels can be closed in the air, it was stressed that it is the most preferred aircraft in parachute jumping and in air sports. It was also stated that the CESSNA 172 RG is the most preferred aircraft in sea-land observations and researches.

GAU`s Pride, First Pilots of Cyprus Received Their PPL Licenses

The students studying within the GAU Piloting, has assumed the title of "the first pilots; studying in Cyprus" in Cyprus Aviation history by taking their first license, the PPL license.

The Only Civil Aircraft Participated in November 15 Parade; The GAU Aircraft

While GAU aircrafts was the only civilian aircrafts partaking in the official ceremony held in Dr. Fazil Kucuk Boulevard, Nicosia within the scope of 32nd anniversary of the establishment of the TRNC on November 15, they saw great interest from citizens. DA42 type twin engine training aircraft, belonging to GAU Pilotage Department, also made appearance at the ceremony together with TAF`s Solo Turk and Turkish Stars demonstration flight team.

GAU Makes Difference in Air Sports in Cyprus

After the announcement of the CESSNA 172 RG together with the soon to be starting parachute training, it was also stated that the Micro light aircrafts, which are irreplaceable of the air sports and are within the GAU School of Aviation, are ready and the paragliding courses will start soon.
