In the event that jointly organized by Girne American University (GAU) and Academy Cyprus Development Platform, ashoura were distributed to public. In the event that organized due to the muharram ul haram , Ashura were served to about 1000 people at Peace Park, beside the Ordu Bazaar and Ramadan Cemil Square. Academy Cyprus Kyrenia Brunch Chairperson Samet Yavan, in his statement about the event he announced “Today is 10 muharram ul haram namely the Day of Ashura, ashura means unity and solidarity, at the same time ashura symbolises the solidarity and socializing. Mr.Yavan draws attention that in our tradition and culture ashura is handed out in muharram ul haram. “ We organized an organization like this in order to alive our tradition and culture, to tell our students. Concordantly, I thank to Girne American University that not refrain to support us , to Akpınar Patisserie that brought together this magnificent traditional flavours with the people of Cyprus, and to my teammates.”
