The groundbreaking of Smart Health Complex that will be built in the cooperation of İstanbul Bilim University and Florence Nightingale Hospital has been realized by the participation of Prime Minister Ömer Kalyoncu.

The foundation of GAU Florence Nightingale Hospital within the Smart Health Complex that will be built in the cooperation of İstanbul Bilim University and Florence Nightingale Hospitals  has been laid.

Beside the Prime Minister Ömer Kalyoncu, Minister of Health Salih İzbul, Minister of National Education Kemal Dürüst, Minister of Public Works and Environment and Culture Kutlu Evren, Mayor of Girne Nidai Güngördü, Founder Rector and Chairman of the Executive Board of Girne American University Serhat Akpınar, CEO and Vice Chairman of the Executive Board Assoc. Prof. Dr. Asım Vehbi, Vice Chancellors of Olgun Üstün and Cemile Esenyel, Rector Prof. Dr. Sadık Ülker, Rector of Bilim University Prof. Dr. Çaylan Çiftçi, Board Member of Florence Nightingale Hospitals Yavuz Tunç, Vice Rectors of GAU, Rector of KAU Prof. Dr. Asuman Türkel, Academicians, Administrative Staff and students of GAU have joined to the ceremony.

Prime Minister Ömer Kalyoncu has stated in his speech at the ceremony that mankind have made a bid for the health for centuries and he has also said that “Today 2 distinguished establishments have gathered and an important project will be put into practice in Girne. What a hopeful day, beginning of the good things.”

Indicating that the universities get the government promotion Kalyoncu has said that “Universities do not provide contribution to only education but also to the economy and they are the establishments that make the Turkish Cypriots widely known. Therefore the private investors and the contributions of the government are coming together. We are on the side of this association. We will continue to support to let our people live better.”

Kalyoncu emphasized his appreciation for the investments that being made to Girne by GAU and wished good luck for the complex.

İZBUL: ““THIS INVESTMENT WOULD PROVIDE CONTRIBUTION BOTH TO HEALTH AND TOURISM”

In his speech Minister of Health Salih İzbul has pointed out the importance of providing a quality health service and he has also stated the belief that these kind of investments would increase the health quality.

Recording that the detailed complex would be built İzbul said that “We are happy. Good luck with it. We would love to help if there are things that we can do in the future.”

Stating that this investment not only would provide contribute to the countryman, health but also to the tourism İzbul has congratulated the signers of the project.

AKPINAR: “THIS  INVESTMENT IS THE SECOND BIGGEST PROJECT IN GIRNE, AFTER THE GAU”

In his speech regarding the details of the project, GAU Founding Rector and Chancellor of Board of Administrators Serhat Akpınar referred that the center would be built on an area total of 67,500 m2 and would turn TRNC and particularly Girne into the capital of health and education.

Recording that after GAU, this project is the second biggest investment of Girne, Akpinar stated that “This project will be the biggest health investment project that has been ever made for TRNC”

COOPERATION PROTOCOL FOR ESTABLISHING MEDICAL FACULTY

Reminding that for establishing medical faculty, they signed a cooperation protocol with Florence Nightingale and Bilim University. Akpınar stressed that the first steps of GAU/Florence Nightingale Hospital has been taken.

CIFTCI: “WE ARE JOYFUL ABOUT THE HISTORIC MOVEMENT”

Istanbul Bilim University Rector Prof. Dr. Cavlan Ciftci stated that they are joyful about the historic movement that will change the destiny of Girne and start a new period in TRNC.

Ciftci recorded that GAU Medical Faculty will be completed with Florence Nightingale and continued;

 “With its assurance of quality and ethics, GAU/Florence Nightingale Hospital will be a role model in both medical and nursing education.

With this cooperation, Istanbul Florence Nightingale Hospitals have been brought into service for Cyprus public and GAU medical and nursing education. International qualified doctors will be raised in Girne and health service will be performed with higher quality.”

After the speeches, Prime Minister Kalyoncu, Ministers and GAU Administrators laid the base of the complex.

THIS WILL BE HABIT BREAKING CENTER IN THE HEALTH COMPLEX

In addition to 32 polyclinics, Smart Health and Medical Center will include 3 fully-equipped operating rooms, delivery room, 50 sickrooms, rehabilitation center, habit breaking center and nursing and rehabilitation center for old persons.

GAU/Florence Nightingale Hospital will be a part of the Smart Health Project.
