Vehbi; As GAU, We Have The Highest Accreditaion In Turkey
Girne American University (GAU) continues to its preference period works which are organized for candidate students before 2015-2016 academic year.
In the TV program called “Akıllı Tercih” which is hosted by Alev Nallar in TRT HABER, GAU CEO and Vice Chancellor of Board of Administrators Assist. Prof. Dr. Asım Vehbi answered the questions of students and talked about the Higher Education of TRNC and GAU.
In his statement, Vehbi referred the followings;
“GAU have assumed the title of first university in Cyprus. Back then, there were not many foundation universities also in Turkey and within 30 years from that period to present, we gained enormous academic knowledge and experience. Within the past 10 years, as part of our strategic plan, we took internationalization to forefront and today, we have campuses in USA, UK, Hong Kong, Turkey and Moldova. Students who study in four-year license departments have the chance to study in these campuses for two years. Besides, they also have the opportunity to study in England for their preparatory schools and while studying, their tuition remains the same as they pay in GAU”
Vehbi, “TRNC is one of the safest country of the world”
“According to the statistics, TRNC is the safest place of the world. There is no terror or major offenses in TRNC. While conflicts in Libya and Syria continue, TRNC is a country that no gun has been fired since 1974. It has 300.000 population and 75.000 students that come from foreign countries. Our society show great respect to students as they are conscious that our economy depends on universities”
“Within GAU, we have over 150 programs, 9 different faculties, 6 colleges. Studying with 103 students from different countries is like getting to know all cultures. It is a great advantage in terms of both socio-culture and linguistic performance”
“As GAU, we also offer our students the opportunity of working in campuses which is called ‘Work Team’. They can legally work 20 hours a week. In return, we give a certain scholarship, discount or make payment to our students.”
