Girne American University (GAU) Vice Rector, Faculty of Education Dean Prof. Dr. Oğuz Karakartal stated that with the long visions of Founding Rector Serhat Akpınar and Memduh Erdal, they experience the proper pride of the university which gives worldwide education in Cyprus and is developing day by day.

Karakartal referred that he believes GAU will develop further and continued; “Hosting European Council for Business Education (ECBE) Director Bryn Holden, International Turkish Culture Organization (TURKSOY) General Secretary Düsen Kaseinov, International Turcology Center Chair Yerden Kazibek and GAU Academician Dr. Manfred Langer in the 30th Year Gala Dinner and Reception which was organized in the previous days is very important”

GAU is in all over the world

In the TV program he attended, Prof. Karakartal referred that” It can be seen that GAU has campuses in 3 continents, generic campuses in many countries, international accreditations, 13 thousand students from 100 countries and academicians from 30 different countries, all of these are very important indications for a university”

 “In my opinion, by hastening its development in the following years, GAU will hold its own between the leading universities of the world and will go further. Number of students will also increase as parallel” Karakartal explained that the development of the GAU, which started 30 years ago with 7 students and now has became a big university with 13 students from 100 countries, is not a coincidence but reasonable and realistic strategies.

Accreditation from international institutions

Karakartal underlined that with the certified programs from YOK and YODAK and accreditations from international institutions, GAU is a globally approved university and stated the followings; “In every respect, it is a very important success and an amazing development. It is known that ECBE Director Bryn Holden stated the sames in the previous days. Therefore, because GAU Faculty of Business completed its all accreditations up to 2018 in 20 different disciplines, associate degree, license, and post graduate programs, Holden awarded certificates to GAU”

Current issiues

Oğuz Karakartel also answered questions about the current issues and expressed that the problems we experience come up different in many countries and because Cyprus is a small island, he believes that the current problems can be solved by considering the susceptibility of our region and community.
