Koray Emirhoca, Vice Principal and Sports Coordinator of the American College, which is under Girne American University (GAU) Group of Schools, explained the success story they experienced in fencing as GAU in a TV program he participated.

Koray Emirhoca stated in a program he attended together with Salih Kayasal, who became 3rd in Turkey at fencing and represented GAU and our country in the best way, that they achieved a great success and that they carried the TRNC and GAU flags proudly.

Explaining that they are in a very good spot at fencing and that the Girne American University provided opportunities in this regard by making great breakthroughs, Koray Emirhoca, stated the followings  in his speech;

 “Salih Kayasal, who represented TRNC in Inter-School Turkey Championship Fencing Tournament held in Turkey and is a 12th grade student in American College, became 3rd in Turkey young men in sword branch. He successfully represented our country in Turkey.  Salih Kayasal, who for years represented our school in the tournaments held in TRNC, draws attention tto his success in school besides his success in sports.”

Stating that the teachers who trained him have the largest share in his success, Salih Kayasal, who is a senior student in high school, stated that" Being able to receive education in GAU family and competing both for my school and country in sports is an important and flattering feeling for me.”

Expressing that he is also a member of the schools music group "Tabu", Salih Kayasal stated that" I believe we, together with our group, successfully represented the American College in this year`s Telsim Vodafone Competition and I thank to both my school, who contributed in my success, and Fencing Federation head coach Ömer Aydın, his contributions in my success are very big.”
