Girne American University (GAU) Performing Arts Drama and Acting Department started to accept applications for the “Special Talent Examination”.

It was announced that deadline of the applications for the exams, which will be held on 23-24 June, is on June 22.

In the Special Talent Examination which was opened by GAU which is the only pioneer university in art education in TRNC, TRNC citizens will benefit from the scholarships they are granted from GAU Scholarship Exam.

In the statement in which it was stated that the Special Talent Examination of School of Performing Arts Drama and Acting Department will take place in two stages, the followings were announced;

1st STAGE: The candidates will prepare two tirades; one will be comedy and the other will be drama/tragedy. Reading poetry and singing a song can also be requested from the candidates. The candidates can be asked questions related to the analysis of the character, chosen work, the author, the time author lived in and the other works of the author. Improvisation and practicing can be made.

2nd STAGE: Musical aptitude, body coordination and sense of rhythm of the candidates are checked. Reading poetry and singing a song can be requested from the candidates. Questions for detecting the liberal education and Professional formation levels of the candidates are asked. Besides, in the examination, if required, the candidates will play a short piece which will be given on the exam day by the jury.

At least 1 hour before the exam time, students must appear in the examination place.

The order for the candidates in order to attend the exam for each stage will be determined by the reference numbers and it will be notified to the candidates before the exam. The candidates who succeed in both of the two stages and have the right to enroll will get their 4 years of academic training in GAU Cyprus Campus. The quota is limited to 15 students.

Students are given the opportunity of  %25, %50, %75 and %100 scholarship.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED IN THE APPLICATION:

•    2015 ÖSYM exam result and a photocopy of it. (The candidates should enter to Transition to Higher Education Examination (YGS) the year he/she will apply to the program and at least one of the points needs to be 140 and higher)

TRNC citizens can benefit from the scholarships which they receive from GAU Scholarship Exam.

•   Original High School Diploma and its photocopy.

•     Application form (it can be taken from the faculty)

•     4 passport-size photographs (photos should be taken within the last six months, from front, head and neck open, should present the candidate easily)

•    Original identity card and its photocopy.

•   Application fee: 50 TL
