Girne American University (GAU) has held a Kite Festival within the 2014-2015 academic year.

"Kite Festival" organized by GAU Architecture, Design and Fine Arts Faculty in the 5th International Art and Design week within the framework of Girne American University 30th year anniversary activities, has attracted great interest.

At the workshop executed by GAU Architecture Department lecturers Aslıhan Aldış Tabakcı and  Assoc. Prof. Dr. Balkız Yapıcıoğlu, kites have been designed using a variety of materials.

The kites designed by GAU Architecture and Interior Design students, were then flown to the blue sky in the open area in front of the Millennium building.
