They collected the medals

GAU Gastronomy students collected the gold and silver medals in Cooking Contest, which was held for the first time among the universities and hosted by European University of Lefke.

GAU students, who won gold medal in the category of starter dishes, silver medal in the category of main dishes, gold medal in the category desserts and gold medal in the general classification, broke the records at the competition, which was held for the first time in TRNC.

The overwhelming superiority of GAU

Especially creativity being the primary aspect and significant; alongside skills and information, added much more excitement to the competition, which was performed in basket method.

Other Chiefs, Gürkan Sedat Demir from Pasha Group Hotel, İbrahim Tunuslu from Elexus Hotel and Gökhan Mutlu from The Palm Beach Hotel, who took charge in the presidency of Ayhan Aşçıoğlu, executive chef of The Colony Hotel, has made evaluations at the competition.

The chiefs and the viewers have made mutual exchange of views at the panel, which was held in the presidency of Head of GAU Gastronomy Department Aytaç Yıldırım.

The contributions of the GAU lecturer Zihni Türksel to the organization of the competition and to home ownership, was appreciated.

While Çiğdem Ormanlı, who prepared and presented Vegetable Stuffed Zucchini (Sebzeli Kabak Dolması) as a primary dish at the competition, was awarded with a gold medal by the jury committee, Murat Gökçe got silver medal with his main dish called Breezes of the Palace and Havva Arif was awarded with the gold medal with her Chocolate Brownie cookies in the desserts category.

Head of the Department of Tourism and Gastronomy Asst. Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Bozdağlar, the faculty lecturers Mustafa Şah and Ali Özçil took part in the GAU Team.

The jury committee has awarded GAU with a gold medal in General Classification, with the assessment they made.

The participation of GAU team, in competitions which will be held abroad came to the agenda once again, after the success achieved in the TRNC.
