“Designing the Temple of Peace” in GAU

International Art and Design Week activities were held in Girne American University (GAU) in the 2014-2015 academic year which the university celebrates its thirtieth year.
 

Within the thirtieth year activities, as part of the 5th International Art and Design Week of the Faculties of Architecture, Design and Fine Arts, GAU organized an international atelier work which was titled as “Designing the Temple of Peace”.

 

The atelier work which had participants from GAU, Miami University, Roma Sapienza University and Nicosia University was carried out by Assist. Prof. Dr. Alessandro Camiz who is the academic member of GAU Faculty of Architecture and the manager of the Research Center of Historical Heritage Works and it was officially patronized by Italy Chamber of Architects Rome Branch Office.

 

By studying the notion of Temple of Peace in the various cultures of world on different groups, participant students made their designs which were suitable for today’s world.

 

The projects were exhibited at the end of the atelier work and assessed by Prof. Dr. Kutsal Öztürk, Assist. Prof. Dr. Shahin Keynoush, Fodei Conteh and the visiting professors.
