Girne American University (GAU), which celebrates its 30th anniversary, hosts important events in 2014-2015 academic years.

The panel themed "Development Dynamics in Cyprus Football", which was organized together with GAU Graduate School Department of Physical Education Teaching, was held at  Millennium Senate Congress Center.

The following names were attended to the panel, which was moderated by Prof.Dr. Mustafa Ferit Acar, as a speaker; President of Cyprus Turkish Football Federation Hasan Sertoğlu, famous technical director Giray Bulak, President of Football Coaches Association Süleyman Göktaş, TRNC and Turkey Professional Football Player and Besyo student Burak Sarikaya.

At the panel, which Girne American University Academic Staff and students of Physical Education Department showed great interest, the questions forwarded about football by students, were answered.

Turkey Professional Football Player and student Burak Sarikaya mentioned the problems he experienced in TRNC football. He stated that, even the dressing rooms were below a certain standards.
