Aim to be Champion

Turkey’s Badminton Super League between Universities begin in Muğla between the 16th-22nd April. Girne American University’s (GAU) Badminton Team is counting down the days for the championship.

GAU’s Badminton Team is going to compete with Turkey’s top 9 teams during the championship that is going to take place at Muğla Sıtkı Kocaman University.

The competitors that GAU’s Badminton Team will be facing have participated in the Olympics, have been second in the world, have European rankings and also participated in the 2010-2011 Second Championship League, 2011-2012 First Championship League and 2013-2014 Turkey Super League Championship between Universities.

GAU’s Sport Coordinator Assist. Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Doğgün spoke about the championship and said he will be the head of the group and also stated that, “As Girne American University we was to accomplish a success that we are proud of and we trust out athletes.”

Doğgün explained that they are going to come across athletes that have experience and success in international fields. Doğgün also stated that, “During these competitions our team is going to face World seconds that have participated in the Olympics and athletes who have European rankings, however, during these tough contests, i believe our team will show great efforts to get rankings.”
