Lifelong Learning Centre (GAU-SEM) connected to the Girne American University (GAU) has added a new personal development programs which are different from each other. In her speech regarding the personal development programs GAU-SEM Coordinator Ayşegül Nacak, reminded that alongside with Speakers, Italian and Capital Markets Licensing Exam Preparations courses, computer, internet and social media courses for adults has begun. Nacak indicated that registrations for the Computer, Internet and Social Media Courses for adults will take place between 3-13 April 2015 and she said that total education period will be 16 hours.      

Within the courses organized for adults, Nacak said that they will focus on general information about the computer concepts, navigating Web pages and social media issues and she emphasized that with the project of Lapta Municipality and GAU-SEM which will last for 2 years, Lapta Municipality will be shaped in scientific context and residents of Lapta region will start to implement the English Language Education Program.

 Purpose of Establishment of GAU-SEM 

Ayşegül Nacak describing the establishment purpose of GAU-SEM, said that GAU Lifelong Learning Centre is established in order to contribute to the development of community economy by meeting the requirements of lifelong education programs of individuals and organizations then producing them in short and long terms and said that they have undertook the task of information and communities to adapt to the contribution for change and development.    

Ayşegül Nacak saying that “ with our centre implementing the programs that organized in individual , institutional, national and international level  with educational activities that adds value to people, events such as research, consulting, conferences, seminars, coursers , etc. are presented to you in the most recent technological environments with qualified instructors,” she said that along with rich academic staff within the GAU-SEM, professional people who came from the main coalface and rose to the highest level in their professions will convey their knowledge and experiences to the participants.

Nacak explained that GAUSEM will have a diversity of getting an education from an hour to a year and with the training certificates they will acquire all individuals who have their freedom from 7 to 77 will both contribute to their personal development and career development and also will put difference in their business life. Then she pointed out that high school diploma alone is not enough and in today’s business life’s competitive environment each individual in order to be different from others they is a need of to improving oneself.

Ayşegül Nacak while pointing out that development and differentiation can only be provided with education and accumulation of knowledge she said this “Certificate programs we provided for our participants throughout their academic lives will give them a huge advantage when they plunge into business life.”
