Environmental cleanliness campaign has begun with the support of the TRNC Ministry of Tourism, Environment and Culture, and cooperation of the Lapta Environmental Protection Office, municipalities of Lapta, Alsancak, Çatalköy and Esentepe, Girne American University and various organisations.

The activity to be carried out in all coastal areas of Girne, the tourism capital of our country as well as the University Road and Girne Motorway, is supported by Environment Office as well as Girne American University and the GAU schools group under the pre-higher educational organizations consortium.

Authorities issuing important statements on the subject, pointed out that work to be carried out in connection with environment and nature was of significant importance and stressed that the GAU authorities, University students and environmental clubs together with students studying at the pre-higher education organisations supported the campaign and this showed that the future volunteers of the protection of environment were being trained. They also stated that a clean environment and respect to the nature were beneficial to society and would contribute to the development of tourism.
