The American College football team 12 age group, which gives education under Girne American University (GAU) Group of Schools, will attend to the international CKFA Cup Soccer Tournament, which will be held in Antalya. The CKFA Cup, which the international football teams of 12 age groups compete, begins on April 9, Thursday in Antalya.

The teams, which are from 64 different countries and constituted of students, will play a match reciprocally and try to be successful at the tournament which will take place at an international level.

The American College received a special invitation

The purpose of the tournament, which the American College students received a special invitation, is to gain cultural sharing, friendship and team spirit.

About the subject, The American College stated the followings:

 “The experiences young students had in the tournament, is an important achievement because it also supports their improvements. We will try to represent our school and the Turkish Cypriots in the best way while participating in this tournament for the first time.”

A team of 14 is constituted

It was stated that there will be many trainer and football manager in the tournament and the followings were stated: “Technical man`s will catch the opportunity of paying attention to players and will allow the assessment of young talents because this is an international organization. With the participation of two teachers and some students parents, we, the group of 14 people consisting of 6 grade students under GAU Group of Schools, are departing to Antalya.”

An important tournament

At the statement which was made to draw attention to the importance of the tournament for students who wants to play football, it was stated that; “This tournament will bring great experience to our students. Friendships that are acquired in such tournaments are memorable. International tournaments are very important in terms of cultural sharing, friendship and team spirit. The first achievements gained are being positive and working well-disciplined. Hereby, our students, on way to reach the higher levels like the famous footballers in the world, will find the opportunity to evaluate the pros and cons of the process.”
