Çalıkuşu - Staged at GAU

The play called "Çalıkuşu- the Scrub Bird", which is adapted by Ankara State Theatre from Reşat Nuri Güntekin`s novel, met with its fans at Girne American university (GAU) Spectrum International Conference Centre.

 

The play, which is organized by the Municipality of Girne at the GAU Spectrum International Conference Centre under the events of Girne Theatre days, attracted great interest. The play, which was novelized from Reşat Nuri Güntekin`s four-act play called "the Istanbul Girl", was staged as a play with the adaption of Necati Cumalı.

Nidai Güngördü, the Mayor of Girne, thanked the GAU management for enabling the meeting of Çalıkuşu- the Scrub Bird with art-lovers at GAU Spectrum International Conference Centre and gave the good news of many art events, which will be meeting with local community.

 

Güngördü emphasized that the Girne American University is not important only for TRNC but is also important for Girne and stated that the contributions that are made to our region by GAU are very large, there are works being done with the cooperation of university-municipality and these works will be further developed over the time.

 

Güngördü stressed that they give value to theatre as the municipality and stated that "We cooperate with Girne American University in art events. We give value to art events."

 

Güngördü, thanked those who are concerned, while stressing that GAU and the amphitheater is used for performing arts and the GAU management, which offered the service of the university facilities to people of Girne, has major contributions.
