The "Tourism and Hospitality Industry Human Resources Career Day" which was organized by Girne American University, was held in Kyrenia Millenium Senate Congress Center yesterday.

Minister of Education Özdemir Berova, Girne American University Founding Rector and Chancellor of the Board Serhat Akpinar, Kyrenia Mayor Nidai Güngördü,Under-Secretary of the Deputy Prime Minister Hüda Hüdaverdi, GAU Acting Rector Sadık Ülker, CEO of GAU Asım Vehbi, the Director of GAU TOYO Assist. Prof. Dr. İsmet esenyel, the President of KITOB Hüseyin Aktığ, the president of KITSAB Orhan Tulun and the students and representatives from various tourism organizations have attended the opening ceremony for the career day.

İsmet Esenyel during the opening speech, emphasized that they organize career days under the name of ‘’ Sector Academy’’ with the aim of combining both the tourism and hospitality industry in Northern Cyprus. He also emphasized that their target is primarily to contribute to the sector as Girne American University Vocational School of Tourism and Hospitality.

Minister of Education BEROVA

The Minister of Education Berova who took the floor following the opening speech, specified that he congratulate all the work done for the Development of the tourism sector in Girne American University and also remarked the importance of such events.

Berova also pointed out that there is a shortage in Tourism sector and said that the educational systems are organized for training qualified personnel in the world but in TRNC, the opposite implementation is done.
