GAU’s Sphere Of İnfluence İn The Middle East İs Expanding
The Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education announced the list of universities where Iraqi students will attend with a full state scholarship; in addition to 13 Turkish universities listed, GAU is the only university from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, the news was announced in the official newspaper of the Iraqi Ministry. Girne American University’s academic cooperation with the leading universities of the Middle East is expanding.
The academic cooperation agreement was signed between the founding rector Dr. Abd Al-Majed Abd Al-handy Al-Saadon from Dar-Al Salam University - which is among the leading universities of Yemen - and GAU Vice Chairman Asım Vehbi.
The agreement allows joint academic programs, student and academician exchange, joint scientific projects, and qualifies Yemeni students and scientists to receive education at the cross-continental campuses of GAU.
The vice chairman Asım Vehbi was accepted by the founding Rector Dr. Abd Al-Majed Abd Al-handy Al-Saadon after the signing ceremony which took place in Dar-Al Salam University’s Yemen Campus. Vehbi presented substantial statements to GAU TV Aktüel Haber concerning the agreement.
Asım Vehbi : ‘GAU Academic Programs will be practiced in Middle Eastern universities.’
Vehbi stated that upon signing an academic collaboration agreement with the Dar_al Salam University, Girne American University’s spehere of influence is expanding in the Middle East higher education, and emphasized that the agreement opened the global education’s doors to Yemeni, Middle Eastern students and scientists.
Vehbi stated that besides the agreement which provides a chance for Yemeni and Middle Eastern students and scientists to continue their education at GAU England, Singapore and USA campuses, the academic cooperations signed with Yemen and regional universities is contributing to the country’s promotion and breakage of ambargos. Vehbi also stated that GAU’s appearance in Iraqi Higher Education Ministry’s list is an important reference for TRNC higher education.
