“GAU, Gives Priority to Service, Quality and Assurance in Education.”
Girne American University Global Education Institution Press Coordinator, Assist. Prof. Dr. Güven Arıklı evaluated the topic of public transportation and the contributions of university students in transportation, which is the most discussed topic recently, in a TV show.
Arıklı criticized the extension of the debate started after inhibition and the prevention of service of the 13 Girne American University (GAU) buses which were detained in customs. Arıklı then stated that “The real sector concept is not fully settled in TRNC so the transportation issues are tried to be managed with daily decisions. Hereby transportation problems of thousands of students who came to our country for Higher Education came up. The problem is with those who are concerned, not with the university.”
Arık stated that a problem cannot be solved by postponing it and stated that “Public transport sector in the country is unable to reach to a healthy structure so the universities have been forced to take initiatives in this regard.”
Arıklı stated that “Our people will give the best decision concerning the ones who ignores the passenger transportation stacked at the back of trucks without any safety precautions.”
Güven Arıklı stated that “We firstly have to deal with 100 thousand of people`s transportation problem.” and continued as follows:
“If the government has any solution about this issue we would like know it. Universities should not be prevented to provide a free transportation service to the students instead they should be encouraged.”
Symposium on Educational Sciences
Arıklı also announced that the 4th International Symposium on Educational Sciences, organized by Girne American University, Faculty of Education and Cyprus Educational Sciences Association, will last 3 days with an extensive and perfect organization.
Güven Arıklı explained that, Turkish and English presentations, new orientation, theory, technique development and teaching methods in education are examined in the Symposium and stated that 200 scientists from 19 countries participated in the symposium and over 150 notices are published about educational sciences.
İskele-Karpaz Scholarship
Arıklı stated in the program that full scholarships will be available for all sections, for student candidates living around İskele and Karpaz and stressed the importance that Girne American University gives to Karpaz and İskele.
Arıklı stated that these scholarships also will be available on UK, USA, Turkey and Hong Kong campuses of GAU and explained that with the GAU Karpaz Life Campus to be completed, GAU will carry the 30 years of scientific knowledge to Karpaz.
