The President of Cyprus Turkish Chess Federation Halil Göymen, has made important contacts by visiting Girne American Universtiy (GAU).

Chair of Depertment of GAU Health, Culture and Sports Türkay Akpınar, Vice Rector of GAU Assist. Prof.Dr. Zafer Ağdelen, American College Vice Principal  Koray Emirhoca and the President of Cyprus Turkish Chess Federation Halil Göymen have attended the talks.  The President of Cyprus Turkish Chess Federation Halil Göymen specified that their purpose is to develop and disseminate the chess through acting in cooperation with the Girne American University.

Göymen made contact in regards to model chess lessons as an elective courses  with the  authorities of Girne American College and Girne American University and said ‘’ First of all,I would like to thank Türkay Akpınar and would like to state that as Chess Federation, our purpose is  to promote the game of chess.

Mr. Göymen emphasized that there are major improvements in the TRNC in chess as it was in all countries. Göymen also said ’’ We should support our children by giving them the chess courses to raise them as prudential, different and multidimensional reasoned individuals.’’
