World Mathematics Day Held In American College and Future American College of GAU Attracted Great Attention

Corresponding to World Mathematics Day, various events were held in the American College and Future American College.

 

In the events that were aimed to ingratiate Mathematics, a great tree which was set up in the school entrance was decorated by attendant teachers and students. Geometrical figures, numbers made from leafs and symbols were used in this colorful atmosphere.

 

During the activities in which the mathematical prodigies were also scrutinized, usage area of symbols and formulas were emphasized, costumes of famous historical mathematicians were worn by the students, students created colorful scenes by introducing their own mathematic formulas.

 

“Who Wants To Be a Millionaire” competition were also arranged within the events and while successful students were presented their awards, a group of eleventh grade students created a 3D ICOSEHDRON figure in the schoolyard.

 

In the activities a competition called “Mathematics World” was pretty exciting and contentious. Each consisting of 3 individuals’ four groups has competed. Talents such as chess tournaments and “Who Remembers the Pi number the most” were demonstrated.

 

In the World Mathematics Day events, the International Prep School first grade students brought their own clocks which they did in their homeworks that their teacher gave them and in the activities which were held with families, lots of works were made in the triangle of “family-school-child”.

 

Like all over the world, the event of which is celebrated as “3-14-15” was enlivened with the Pi symbol which was created by a group of secondary school students.

 

Rewards and certificates to all students who participated in a competition were presented by the school principals.
