Arıklı, Evaluates The Situation With The Buses And Presidetial Elections
Girne American University’s (GAU), Global Education Institution Press Coordinator, Assist. Prof. Dr. Güven Arıklı stated that, good quality education and stability in service is ensured and that new attempts relevant to the era are priority.
During a TV program, Arıklı answered questions about GAU’S 13 buses being held at customs, which is the latest issue in the media.
Güven Arıklı said, “We are not interested in finding a solution through arguing. Because, we are people with academic vision, at peace with local people, education lovers who have important missions to end embargos with representatives of other countries.”
Pointing out that the buses that are being held at customs, support for GAU by voters is big and there are many supporting messages. Arıklı stated “With procedures that have been taking place for years, we brought 13 buses to our country, the value of these vehicles being held at customs is 550 thousand pounds. As GAU we could have spent this money on improvement for quality education. However, because there isn’t the needed amount of public transport, like us other universities have responded to student requests and have created public transportation for students.”
Arıklı called out to the authorities saying that he has no other aim than stopping the injustice that students are suffering at Girne American University. He said that the procedures and rights that have been known up until today must be carried out.
After being asked about the Presidential elections, Arıklı recalled that results of a survey in a local newspaper were announced and emphasized that Eroğlu was leading the survey. Güven Arıklı evaluated that the discussions that are currently being brought up in parties other than, Ulusal Birlik Partisi (National Unity Party) and Demokrat Parti (Democrat Party) will have a negative reflection on the elections. He also stated that, “Independent candidate, Derviş Eroğlu, supported by UBP-DP, will show his years of experience and come out a leader in this race.”
