The premier of the documentary with the collaboration of Girne American University Cyprus Research Centre (GAU-KAM) and BRK took place at GAU Cyprus Kyrenia Campus Millennium Senate Congress hall.

Premier of the documentary named “Sorrow of a Photo” which took place with the collaboration of GAU-KAM and BRT was participated by Kyrenia District Governer Mehmet Envergil, GAU Acting Rector Prof. Dr. Sadık Ülker, Dean of GAU Faculty of Communication Elif Asude Tunca, Chair of GAU-KAM Ulvi Keser, Chair of the Association of Orthopaedic Handicaps Günay Kibrit, academicians and students.

During the opening speech GAU Acting Rector Prof. Dr. Sadık Ülker  performed,  while mentioning  that this photo which got a foothold in our memories since our childhood fully reflected our pains, he presented his thanks to the BRT for the work they been carried out for GAU-KAM.

Chair of GAU-KAM and Dean of  GAU Faculty of Business and Economics Ulvi Keser, while indicating that today in here they share a pain and without forgetting yesterday they will look after today and future better, he thanked the Dean of Faculty of Communication and Sadık Ülker for the BRT equipment support.

Nevcihan Oluşan is still 30 years old in 19 March 1964 and she is within the excitement of a new baby; but her husband Niyazi Hasan, is killed by armed Greek Cypriots at Gaziveren and as for the black and white photo taken at the moment of Nevcihan’s husband’s death is used as a propaganda tool by the Greek Cypriots for many years. Nevcihan is described as a “Greek woman whose husband is murdered by the Turks” and those reflected feelings from that photo frame were shot as a documentary with the corporation of BRT and Girne American University Cyprus Research Center.
