GAU Discussed Cyprus Cultural Heritage at Rome

International Historical Heritage Studies Research Center under GAU Faculty of Architecture, Design and Fine Arts established in 2013 was represented in a seminar namely “Applied research for cultural heritage: innovation and restoration” at Rome Architecture House.

 

The seminar was undertaken cooperatively with Rome Sapienza University and Florence University. The seminar which the opening was held by the head of Rome Chamber of Architects Historical Heritage department Virginia Rossini was then followed up by  the presentations of the Director of Appia Antique Park- Alma Rossi, Director of Sapienza University School of Monuments Restoration Graduation- Daniela Esposito and Member of the Faculty of Sapienza University- Prof. Gıovanni Carbonara.  The session leader- Chair of GAU International Historical Heritage Studies Research Center Assist. Prof. Dr. Alessandro Camiz have further informed the participants about the history of Acheiropoietos Monestry  which the restoration process is undertaken by GAU, the studies conducted by the universities and the results of Internaitonal Design Workshop realized cooperatively with Sapienza University.

 

Following Camiz, the Coordinator of Internaitonal Design Workshop Member of the Faculty of Florence University- Prof. Gıorgio Verdiani have presented further about the 3D scanning of Acheiropoietos Monastery.  Lucia Ferroglio of Sapienza University presented information about the design studies recommended by the participants and finally Simona Messina of Sapienza University have held a presentation about the Middle-Age Garden project in regards to the Monastery.
