The "Tango" concert organized by Kyrenia Municipality Turkish Art Music Ensemble under Girne American University (GAU), has presented an unforgettable night to its guests.

The concert organized by Kyrenia Municipality Turkish Art Music Ensemble was held at GAU Spectrum International Congress Center. Minister of Labour and Social Security Aziz Gürpınar, Minister of Education Özdemir Berovo, Mayor of Kyrenia Nidai Güngördü, Governor of Kyrenia Mehmet Envergil and many art enthusiasts have attended to the concert. Kyrenia Tango Club trainers Behiye Berktuğ and Önder Egeli have also accompanied the songs with their tango dancing.

GÜNGÖRDÜ: OUR CONTRIBUTION TO ART WILL CONTINUE

Mayor of Kyrenia Nidai Güngördü pointed out in his speech at the night that there are differences between the villages and the city in terms of cultural and artistic activities, and emphasized that municipalities should give more importance to works related with art and culture besides infrastructure woks.

Nidai Güngördü expressed that the concerts organized by Kyrenia Municipality Turkish Art Music Ensemble has become a tradition and stated that Chief İhsan Gürel and his team have team successfully fulfilled this mission for 18 years. Güngördü stated that they will continue to contribute to Kyrenia Municipality Turkish Art Music Ensemble and conduct co-operations with other cultural and arts-related organizations.

GUEST ARTISTS ARRIVED FROM TURKEY

The first concert of 2015 which was commenced by the group in the management of Chief İhsan Gürel, was consisted of two parts. In the first part of the concert, known and loved Turkish music works of Bayati, Nihavend, Hejaz, Suzidil and Hosseini tune was sung by soloists and choral group. Mustafa Şefik Özgen, Ayhan Çoköz, Sevilay Biranlı, Fatma Akbalıkçı, Zulal Ertüngü, İhsan Gürel and Yusuf Nidai have performed as soloists.

In the second part, 9 pieces from composers such as Necip Celal Andel, Kadri Cerrahoğlu, Fehmi Ege, Dursun Karaca, Kaptanzade Ali Rıza Bey and Necdet Koyutürk were performed. Adnan Mungan, who participated in the concert as a guest vocalist from Turkey, has sang his tango pieces. Zither Hacer Tısoğlu has accompanied to the group also.

PLAQUE OF APPRECIATION WAS PRESENTED

Gecenin sonunda Girne Amerikan Üniversitesi Yardımcı Rektör Yardımcısı Prof.Dr. Mira Rana Gökdoğan’a, kanun sanatçısı Hacer Tısoğlu’na, ses sanatçısı Adnan Mungan’a, orkestrada yer alan Mustafa Elmas’a, Girne Tango Kulübü adına Behiye Berktuğ ve Önder Egeli’ye, konserin sunuculuğunu yapan Hüseyin Kanatlı’ya ve konser şefi İhsan Gürel’e plaket takdim edildi.

At the end of the night, plaques of appreciation were presented to GAU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mira Rana Gökdoğan, Zither Hacer Tısoğlu, Vocal artist Adnan Mungan, Mustafa Elmas on behalf of the orchestra, Behiye Berktuğ and Önder Egeli on behalf of Kyrenia Tango Club, concert presenter Hüseyin Kanatlı and Cheif İhsan Gürel.
