Book and Child Themed Family Education Seminar Held in GAU

“Book and Child” themed family education seminar held in GAU organized via the cooperation of American College and Future American College on the eve of GAU’s 30th year in 2014-2015 Academic years.

 

 

The seminar which was held in GAU Cyprus-Girne Campus Millennium Senate Congress Hall was participated by the students and their families.  Lecturer in GAU Pre-school Teaching Aytaç Dilek has held a presentation emphasizing the importance of the book during the childhood for the children and the contribution to their imaginary world. İssues like developments and approaches between the children’s books in old days and today was discussed. The emphasis was pointed out to the fact that families shall choose books together with their children as they pay more attention to the books they choose.

 

Dilek has remarked whether or not if families are familiar to read books because children will like reading books as they imitate reading books. Dilek has also underlined that parents must limit the usage of TV and mobile equipment to their children.

 

 

Accordingly to GAU’s statement the second of the seminars held under family education context firstly was about “Physical, Psychological and Emotional Development of Children” presented by Specialist Psychologist Derya Çobanoğlu. In addition to this the second part of the seminar has emphasized the problems during these periods.

 

Mine Ağdaç- the Principal to American Primary School, has stated that; they will continue to perform seminars during the year and organize plans accordingly to the demands of the family thus lead seminars in this respect. Finally it has been reported that educational activities were also going to be performed not only for the parents but also for the personnel and that other beneficial seminars for the children are to be held in next few days.
