Girne American University continues to celebrate its 30th year with the social and cultural activities in the 2014 - 2015 academic years.

The opening speech was made by GAU Secretary General Assist. Prof. Dr. Sualp Davut at the night which was held at GAU Kyrenia Cyprus Campus International Congress Centre Spectrum Hall. Davut stated in his speech that this event was held in the last weeks of the fall semester`s finals wishing to motivate everyone and expressed that they pay attention and support similar social activities as the GAU. In addition, Davut stressed that rap is a popular culture in the world, expressed that this event is a good example of the universality as GAU with its universal nature of a university with students from many different countries.

The "Rap Battle" contest organized by GAU Multi Cultural Center was greeted with great interest by students. The night, which was shown interest especially by international students, has started with music, dance and freestyles at first. After the opening show, rappers have performed on stage. At the night with contentious minutes, students identified the best performance with applause.

Faisal Isa, who performed the best performance at the end of the competition, was awarded the title of "King of Rap" and also a certificate of participation was presented to all participants for their contributions.
