Giving education under the school groups of Girne American University, The Future American College coordinated the commemorating ceremony which was attended by Vice President, Economy, Tourism, Culture and Sports Minister Serdar Denktaş who talked about Founding President Rauf R. Denktaş.

Alongside with Vice President, Economy, Tourism, Culture and Sports Minister Serdar Dentaş, GAU Vice Chancellor of the Board Olgun Üstün, school principals and students participated in the commemoration ceremony that took place at The Future American College Nicosia Campus.

The activity organized due to the Founding President Rauf R. Dentaş 3^rd Death anniversary, started with a cine-vision performance of Rauf Dentaş reading his poem called “I Have Two Flags” (Benim İki Bayrağım Var) and after that Serdar Denktaş talked about some sections from Founding President Rauf R. Denktaş life.

Vice President Serdar Denktaş recalled that Rauf Denktaş is a child born in 1924 British period and he emphasized that he grew up with hearing “we saw the Ottomans departure I hope you see their return” wishes from his elders.

Denktaş mentioned the importance of how Rauf Dentaş becomes Denktaş, he said Rauf Denktaş started his struggled life for the first time at a meeting as 24 years old young lawyer.

Denktaş indicated that after attending the 1964 London Conference Rauf Denktaş’s entry to the Cyprus was prohibited and until 1968 he was forced to live in Ankara and he recited about Rauf Denktaş memories on different steps they took in the struggle during those times.

Denktaş emphasized that we should not forget the significance of living in a free country despite the all the mistakes and deficiencies we are currently experiencing and he said “If Denktaş lived, he wanted you to look after our country and to know that you have as much as right as anyone in the world.”

Serdar Denktaş told students “every one of you needs to become Denktaş, to love and be protective of your country and its land” and said they will realize the importance of being individuals borne while he was alive.”

Denktaş indicated that as a father Rauf Denktaş always gave him a feeling of security and place to take sanctuary and mentioned that he is a producer of solutions for all country and place to take shelter.

Denktaş promised to send students books telling Rauf Dentaş childhood and he also said Rauf Denktaş was also once a naughty child and he asked them to not forget that in the future they will become individuals who will be arbiters in the destiny of the country.
