For the New Year Reception, Girne American University’s Global Science Family meets at GAU’s International Campus, The Spectrum Congress Hall.

At the New Year reception, GAU’s Chairman of the Board of Trustees Memduh Erdal, GAU’s Founding Rector and Chancellor of The Board -Serhat Akpınar, CEO and Vice Chancellor Assist. Prof. Dr. Asım Vehbi, Vice Chancellors Cemile Esenyel and Olgun Üstün, Acting Rector Prof. Dr. Sadık Ülker, GAU Vice Rectors, Head of Health, Sports and Culture- Türkay Akpınar and alongside academic and administrative staff of GAU’s Global Science Family came together at the reception with GAU’s music band Trio playing live music.   

A speech by Acting Rector Prof. Dr. Sadık Ülker, at the New Year reception included the fact that as the GAU family in 2014 they had a very successful year, made many international agreements and stated that many new faculties were opened. Ülker said that this will continue in 2015, a medical faculty project and also in 2015 another project that is beginning is the Karpaz Campus. Ülker wishes everybody a happy and successful year in 2015 and hopes that each day is better than the day before.

CEO and Vice Chancellor Assist. Prof. Dr. Asım Vehbi stated that, 2014 was a successful year for the GAU family and said that many students and acedmics joined them from around the world. Vehbi also stated that their aims for 2015 are higher than before and wishes everybody a healthy, happy, peacful and prosperious New Year.

The speech by, GAU’s Founding Rector and Chancellor of The Board, Serhat Akpınar included the fact that the report sent from GAU’s Istanbul Campus has been read and how great their responsibility has been realised. Akpınar stated that there are teams in Turkey and many other places around the world who are promoting GAU and after seeing that 72 counties have been visited in 1 month, he stated that the GAU family have been working productively. Akpinar also stated that everybody who has put effort into GAU haven’t actually noticed how much they have effected the environmantal structure and projects. He also mentioned that they will not only welcome 2015 with great success in the TRNC, but they will achieve success in Turkey and wishes to be a successful university throughout the world. He hopes everybody a happy and healthy new year.
