Girne American University is celebrating its 30th anniversary in higher education within the 2014-2015 academic year and they have added one more agreement to nearly 200 signed academic cooperation agreements between the universities of the world, including Turkey.

With the academic cooperation agreement signed between GAU and Çanakkale On Sekiz Mart University, GAU continues its academic cooperation and scientific information sharing with the exception of the GAU international global generic campus and education centres in England, Hong Kong, USA and Turkey, the number of agreements came close to 200.

The cooperation agreement between Girne American University (GAU) and Çanakkale On Sekiz Mart University (ÇOMU) will ensure cooperation in mutual scientific studies, scientists and progress in periodic education in other campuses in the content of academic exchange programs and organizing joint seminars, conferences and workshops between the two universities within a 5 year period.

The academic agreement of cooperation between GAU and COMU were signed by Acting Rector Prof. Dr. Sadık Ülker on behalf of GAU and Rector Prof. Dr. Sedat Laçiner on behalf of COMU.

In a statement GAU Acting Rector - Prof. Dr. Sadık Ülker indicated that with the GAU global generic campuses, they are in an academic cooperation with almost 200 universities and he underlined that apart from its contributions to student development, international academic cooperation agreement plays an important role in the country`s promotions. Ülker emphasized the union of language, culture and religion between Mainland Turkey and the TRNC and also the importance and morale of academic cooperation agreements signed with the Turkish universities and with the agreement he indicated that important scientific production will be followed by the aimed purposes and also at the same time many scientific projects will be taking place.

In addition, during last year’s academic year GAU hosted the " 1st International Marine Sciences and Technology Symposium"  that took place with the cooperation with COMU,  Ülker emphasized that with this signed academic cooperation agreement they aim to get their cooperation even further.
