Ambassador of Austria visits GAU

GAU was visited by the Cyprus Ambassador of Austria at the 2014/2015 Academic year during GAU’s celebration of its 30th anniversary.

 

The GAU CEO and the Vice Chancellor of the Administrative Board - Assist. Prof. Dr. Asım Vehbi, the GAU Acting Rector - Prof. Dr. Sadık Ülker, the Vice Rectors - Prof. Dr. Oğuz Karakartal and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zafer Ağdelen joined the Austrian Ambassador - Dr. Karl Müller at a reception which was hosted at GAU’s Kyrenia Campus of Cyprus Millennium Presidency office.

 

During the visit, the GAU CEO and the Vice Chancellor of the Administrative Board - Assist. Prof. Dr. Asım Vehbi while giving the Austrian Ambassador information about the university and the education policy, also gave an informative tour of the campus.

 

The GAU CEO and the Vice Chancellor of the Administrative Board - Assist. Prof. Dr. Asım Vehbi in his report on the subject stated their pleasure of the visit of Dr.Karl Müller and stated that Dr. Karl Müller admired the GAU campus, the internationalization vision and the education system. Vehbi said that the reason for Dr.Müller’s visit was to get to know GAU better and ways towards strengthening the connections between the two country’s universities by considering their higher education system.

 

Vehbi also stated that, while the interest towards GAU is growing from day to day, he said that up to now they have made about 200 academic partnership agreements with international universities and that this number is increasing  from day to day. Vehbi said;  Thanks to the international vision of GAU, the TRNC has become even more recognised and he also mentioned that they have eliminated the isolations applied on the country in terms of academics.
