Academic Cooperation Agreement Signed Between Girne American University and Glyndwr University

Girne American University (GAU) is celebrating its 30th anniversary in higher education in its 2014/2015 academic year in which the vision is internationalization and in that framework has signed a cooperation agreement with one of UK`s major international universities, Glyndwr University.

 

With the academic cooperation agreement signed between GAU and Glyndwr University, GAU continues its academic cooperation and scientific information sharing with almost 200 universities with the exception of the GAU international global generic campuses and education centers in England, Hong Kong, USA and Turkey.

 

The signing ceremony, which was held at Glyndwr University, was attended by CEO and Vice-Chancellor - Asst. Prof. Dr. Asim Vehbi on behalf of GAU and Vice-Chancellor Prof. Michael Scott on behalf of Glyndwr University.

 

GAU CEO and Vice Chancellor of the Board - Asst. Prof. Dr. Asim Vehbi said in a statement on the matter, after a lengthy process they have signed a cooperation agreement with Glyndwr University and wished the agreement to be good luck in general for theTRNC and in particular for the GAU family. Vehbi described their cooperation as doors opening outwards and expressed that they are proud of being the most external university in the framework of their vision of internationalizing as GAU.  Vehbi stated that they have their own campuses in England, USA, Hong Kong and Istanbul and as well as the campuses he stated that they are in academic cooperation agreements with almost 200 universities. Carried out in the framework of the agreement made with Glyndwr University based in Wales, U.K,  Vehbi stated that they have made a system from which a lot of students can benefit and that they will exchange students from UK to Cyprus and from Cyprus to UK.  Additionally Vehbi stated that with the protocol agreement made, the GAU students will be able to attend Glyndwr University for a semester or 1 year, regardless of their department.  Vehbi added to his statement saying that both universities have plans to apply dual diploma programs to many of their fields.

 

With the agreement between GAU and Glyndwr University they plan to conduct joint scientific research and, with the agreement, the scientists and students will be able to continue their semester education in other university campuses through the academic exchange program.
