GAU Conducted a Seminer on “Spatial Reflections of Cyprus Issue”
Vıce-Dean Of GAU Architecture, Design and Fine Arts Faculty Assist. Prof. Dr. Hossein Sadri has realized a speech on “Spatial Reflections of Cyprus Issue” in an international “Competing Memories” conference held under common organization of Faculty of Humanities of Amsterdam University and Faculty of Arts of Amsterdam University.
In his presentation titled as “Placed Memories and Displaced People in Divided Cyprus” Sadri has further analyzed the conflict related reflections on daily life and monumental environments of the Cypriots and also the case of concretized memories on the environment.
Sadri underlined that the presentation is unique as it has reflected the reflections of peace on an environment and also emphasized that nevertheless war periods are much brief they leave more significant mark than peace period.
Sadri finally reported that he has successfully delivered his theories on inhabiting of peace on an environment to the audience and hoped that this study will develop further to utilize architecture as the facility and feature of sustainability of peace. Sadri emphasized that this Cyprus oriented study can also be used at global scale.
