Girne American University Faculty of Architecture, Design & Fine Arts, Department of Interior Design and Faculty of Engineering, Department of Industrial Engineering organized a symposium and Workshop on "Barrier Free Environment" during the international week of people with disabilities.

The speakers of the academic session of the symposium were Asst. Prof. Dr. Senem Zeybekoğlu Sadri, head of the department of interior design, Asst. Prof. Dr. Burcu Toker head of the department of industrial engineering and Lect. Buğu Şah. Mr. Sümer Aygın mayer of Girne Municipality, Mr. Sedat Hacımehmet president of Cyprus Turkish Ortopaedics Association, Mr. Yazgan Musannıf president of Girne Liman Rotary Club and Mr. Musa Saygı president of Girne Special Education Centre have been participated in the symposium.

In the workshop which was held on Saturday 08 Dec. 2012 in Gİrne Special Education Centre 28 students of Girne American University participated to redesign the school court to make it accessible to children with disabilities.
