PEEPSHOW & PIXELS
The PEEP and PIXELS SHOWS are actually two unrelated exhibitions which will be opened simultaneously on Wednesday 15 May. They are both projects which students were asked to deal with in Spring semester 2024. The concept behind PEEP relates to the 5 thousand year old idea that by looking through a tiny aperture, or peep holes into a small room or box the viewer is transported into another realm. Hence in the peepshows on display the the viewer will see miniature architectural displays, holograms, spaces which promise use of other senses than just the visual, mechanical and soundscapes, creepy and discomforting places as well as almost paradisal environments. All are visually provocative.
The works in PIXELS move from using a detail of someone else’s painting, choosing a detail, blowing it up until it pixilates and turning the resulting pixels into an original 3D work.
All viewers and their feedback will be most welcome. ENJOY.
