North Cyprus National Tourism School Project Competition
Currently North Cyprus is offering 3S (Sun, Sea, and Sand) with its more than 100 tourism establishments including five star hotels with Casinos, four star and many small hotels. Recently, there have been some B&B establishments added in rural areas to offer eco tourism lovers a choice. Eco tourism and CBT (Community Based Tourism) is also developing in North Cyprus. North Cyprus also has many treasures that have not properly served the current tourism sector in North Cyprus. These treasures include Flora Fauna, Wildlife, Culture, Religious sites, Historical sites, Sporting sites (mountain trekking, scuba diving etc.) and 6 special areas in North Cyprus that are included in “Natura 2000” of the EU and is an opportunity to contribute to the sector to create sustainable tourism product of Northern Cyprus. You must carry out a research and analyze what is currently available, what could be developed with existed values as stated above to offer tourists and develop a report on a potential tourism product that can be developed and promoted internationally.
In order to develop this product you must consider the following:
What is currently available in North Cyprus?
What is the appropriate, marketable tourism product for the North Cyprus?
Who are the potential markets for the tourism product that you are suggesting?
How can this product improve the positive impacts (socio-cultural, environmental as well as economical) and mitigate the negative?
Why would tourists choose your product?
Who are the competitors?
How can this product be marketed and promoted to the target tourists?
Your report must be presented professionally (See Competition Procedures) and show evidence of research and creativity. Therefore design this product as a package that will be presented to the TRNC Tourism & Cultural Ministry and North Cyprus Hoteliers Association.
