SEPTEMBER 25 WORLD PHARMACISTS DAY
Announcements
WHAT'S
SEPTEMBER 25 WORLD PHARMACISTS DAY
The purpose of “September 25 World Pharmacists Day”, which was brought
to life at the FIP (International Pharmaceutical Federation) Council 2009 in Istanbul, is to encourage activities that promote and advocate for the role of
“the Pharmacist, the Medicine Expert”, in improving health in every corner
of the world.
“Pharmacy: Always trusted for your health” is the theme of this year’s World Pharmacists Day on 25 September 2021.
For many years, pharmacists have consistently been named among the
“Most Trusted Professionals” in national surveys.
“Trust” is a central part of all human relationships and a fundamental element
of social capital. Trust is also essential to health care: there is a significant association between trust in healthcare professionals and health outcomes
for patients.
Pharmacists have an ethical obligation to build trust with patients and
represent their profession in a trustworthy manner. “Honesty, positive relationships, respect, care, and competency / expertise” are the essential elements for patient trust.
Pharmacy education and training at the GAU School of Pharmacy enables the “Student Pharmacists” to fulfil their “Patient-Oriented and Trust-Based Roles” in the future as a member of the healthcare team with the emerging innovative forms of pharmacy practice.
2020 and 2021were very special for the Parmacists due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Pharmacist Heroes all over the world risk their lives every day
to serve the public. A number of Pharmacists of the “Global Pharmacy Family” has passed away because of the SARS-CoV-2 Virus. We will never forget those “Pharmacy Martyrs” and their professional determination. May their soul rest
in peace.
