GAU 2018 SUMMER SCHOOL RULES & REGULATIONS

For the available Summer 2018 Summer School courses (providing that no clashes occur):

• As per decision taken by the University Board of Directors’, students on academic probation can take a maximum of 2 new courses and repeat 1 course (maximum 9 credits)

• Other registered students may take a maximum of three new courses (maximum 9 credits) providing that their CGPA is 2.00 and above and there are no course clashes. 

• Students who have 4 courses left to graduate can take these courses (with or without credits totaling 4 courses with a maximum of 12 credits) with the approval of the Faculty and Head of Department providing that they have a feasible CGPA for graduation at the end of the summer term.

• Students who have successfully completed the Foundation English Program can take maximum number of 3 new courses (9 credits) from the first year of their department studies; providing that no clashes occur in the schedule.

• Graduating students, wishing to increase their CGPA can repeat a maximum number of 3 courses. Their latest grades will be shown on their transcripts.

• The registration period of the Summer 2018 Semester is between 18th June- 20th June 2018. As of 21st June 2018, students will be charged a late registration fee of 25 Euros per working day.  Students will not be allowed to register after 30^th June 2018.

• Courses for the Summer 2018 Semester will start on 21^st June 2018.

Class attendance is compulsory. Medical reports will not be accepted for late registration.  

• “Add/Drop” of courses will not be allowed during the Summer Semester.

• Students registering for Summer 2018 Semester are required to close all their debts from the previous semesters. This year 2 installments will be provided for our summer school fees.

• Payments for Summer Semester 2018 will be made per credit(s) taken. No additional activity fees will be charged.
• Students that register for a total of 9 credits (3 courses) regardless of their current scholarship/discount will automatically receive 50% discount for Summer School. Students who are in the graduating position, who will take less than 9 credits or take more than 9 credits will be given a 50% discount providing that these are their final courses.

Students who do not receive any tuition fee discount or scholarship, that take a minimum of 2 (two) credit courses will be eligible to receive a 20% discount per credit taken and/or if they have a scholarship (50% - 75% - 100%) they will be able to use only 40% of their discount.

• Between 1/6/18-15/8/18 a fixed exchange rate of 4,60 TL will be applied.
• Prices listed above include VAT

• English Foundation Summer School 2018 fees will be discounted at 750 € + 5%VAT. Summer School courses will be given in line with students individual chosen Faculty. 

• According the Rules & Regulations of GAU, students taking Summer Semester 2018 in another University will not be accepted at GAU. (These courses will be non-transferable). In exceptional cases, upon approval of the Rectorate Office these courses will be transferred. Applications for the Rectorate Office must be made between 27^th May 2018 – 5^th June 2018. Late applications will not be accepted.

• The registration rules of the students on the Work Team list will be defined according to the demand of the unit. These students should visit Student Accounts Department Manager in order to submit their applications in the nearest future.
